Ingredients

  • 3 thick slices of sourdough bread

  • 3 small ripe avocados

  • Softened butter, enough to lightly coat both sides of the bread

  • Mushroom seasoning granules or salt, to taste

  • Chili flakes, to taste

Let’s make it

  1. Spread a thin layer of butter on both sides of the sourdough. Toast in a frying pan over medium heat, turning until the surfaces are golden and the edges crisp.

  2. Set the avocados on a stable cutting board, halve them carefully and remove the pits with a spoon. Scoop the flesh into a bowl.

  3. Mash the avocado lightly, keeping some texture, and divide it over the warm toast.

  4. Sprinkle with mushroom seasoning or salt and a little chili. Taste before adding more, then serve while the bread is still crisp.
